My Chinese Dream—Chinese Culture stands before the World Good evening, ladies and gentlemen!I’m from the school of

economics.It’s my honor to be here and give you a speech.Today my topic is “Chinese culture one day stands before the world！!”

We all know that China is the world factory today, providing the world with a ma of manufactured goods every day.But actually, we are receiving more cultural products than we give out now.China has a long history, and a colorful culture and those are our advantages.So if we can make the most of them, we can be more competitive, because culture is regarded as a key part of “soft power” in today’s international competition among countries.However, many people among us are not aware of this!Firstly, a lot of good Chinese cultures are lost when they are transmitted from generation to generation.I used to attend my university in Yunnan

province, and one of my clamates, who is from the Dai People, told me that he knows little about Dai language, not to mention the customs of his ethnic group.Secondly, some typical Chinese cultures are invaded by other countries, especially the neighboring countries.For example, the Dragon Boat Festival is originated in China, but it was initially registered as South Korea’s intangible cultural heritage in 2005.Thirdly, we are not skilled at fully using our cultural resources, let alone absorbing and

utilizing excellent cultures abroad.For instance, the movie Kongfu Panda has the exact Chinese settings, but it actually tells about an American inspirational story.Therefore, it is urgent for us to explore and protect our culture.For the government, they should invest more to support the cultural

undertakings and cultural industries, and protect our Chinese culture from outside invasions.For the social organizations, they should build more bridges for the communications of Chinese and foreign cultures.And for us individuals, we should learn by heart our culture and actively promote it wherever we are.I have a dream that one day China will have its own DreamWorks and Disney Land, and still we have a long way to go;I have a dream that one day “Created in China” will be labeled on the cultural products we give to the world, and still we have a long way to go.I have a dream that one day Chinese culture will proudly stand before the world, and I am sure we can do it by our joint effort!Can we? Yes, of course we can!
