Dear Friends，Ladies and Gentlemen，Good evening!

After 9 months teaching and living in New Zealand, I’m glad to make a statement at the farewell reception.On behalf of all Mandarin Language Aistants, I’d like to expre our heartfelt gratitude to all the guests from different places and friends who gave their support to this reception.Before we came to New Zealand, I knew it would be a beautiful country.Now we know it is a very nice country with very nice people.I still remember my first cla and even though no-one knew me, they all treated me with respect.They all knew nothing about China and how to speak Chinese, but now they know so many greetings and Chinese songs that even when they see me in town they greet me.I love hearings others learning about our Chinese culture and enjoying it.Just like

Ienjoyed to learning about different cultures.I taught my students to learn “1、2、3、4” in Chinese, and they taught me to say“ tahi、rua、toru、wha”.During my work, I found that the Chinese culture and Maori culture have many same celebrations.For instance, when I introduced the Chinese dragon-boat festival, my students were happy to tell me that they have the same boat race and they are singing folk songs when they are pulling the oars.When I introduced the Chinese mid-autumn festival, the students told me there is a lady who also lived in the moon and there is a tree in the moon in the Maori legend.All of these made me surprised and happy.During school holidays, I travelled to the South Island and North Island.My friends and I walked two hours to see the cute sea lions in Kaikoura.We drove a car to see a group of blue penguins in Christchurch.We took the bus to ninety mile beach and enjoyed the wonderful scenery.We went to a spa in Rotorua.We went fishing in Whakatane.We had a terrible but excited sky-diving in Queenstown.We saw the unique and most beautiful sky at night in Tekapo.The things that I really enjoyed here on my stay way learning all about the different cultures here and especially tasting the yummy seafood.The schools that I taught at had so many friendly children and teachers.The scenery here was amazing and the blue sky with the clouds were my favorite.I want to thank everybody who helped me and supported me in my life and work.I would just like to say that I really enjoyed my experience here and I hope to come back soon.Thank you!
