我相信，渴望和必胜的信念就是一切。我不知道，我是如何一步步走到今天的，但我始终充满激情。我心中总有一个声音在说：我要实现这个目标，我要为之奋斗；我要成为一个大人物，所以我要闯出一番天地。

I believe desire and will to win is everything.I don't know why I'm like what I am now but I'm always burning.There's always something to say: I’ll get it done or just go for it.You choose to be somebody.You are supposed to make a difference with your life.有什么事情，是一个年收入多出五千美元的人做的，而一个年收入固定五万的人不去做的？从旁观者角度，你来比较这两个人。一切都看起来是相同的。他们性别一样，年龄相同，接受过同样的培训，担任的是一样的职位，签的是同样的合同，相同的薪酬福利，他们都很成功，同样努力工作，他们都是称职的家庭成员，都恪守承诺。但区别在哪里呢？什么是一个年收入多出五千美元的人做的，而一个年收入固定五万的人不去做的？

What does a five-more-thousand-dollars-a-year person do, the 50,000-dollars-a-year person doesn't do? You look outside.You study two individuals.Everything seems to be the same.They are both of the same sex, both of the same age, they have the same training, the same positions, the same contract, the same wage & benefit, they are both succeful, they work hard, they are good family people, make tough commitments, but what's the difference? What does a five-more-thousand-dollars-a-year person do, and the 50,000-dollar person doesn't do?

今天，我最后要说的话是：朋友们，如果你想取得商业上的成功，你就得成为一名领导者。The last thing I'll talk to you today is: folks, if you want to win in busine, you gotta be a leader.领导力意味着一切。你随便举出一个在美国成功的例子，我就能指出领导力在其中的作用。你随便举出一家成功的教堂，一个成功的童子军营，一个成功的俱乐部，一支成功的足球队，一家成功的企业，我就能指出领导力在其中的作用。

Leadership is everything.You show me anything in this United States that win, I'll show you a leader's work.You show me a succeful church, a boy scout troop, a club, a football team, a busine, I'll show you something about the leader.我曾经以为，我要成功的话，就得“机灵”。我曾经遇到过这样“机灵”的人，他们衣着光鲜，口若悬河，侃侃而谈。这些人让我自惭形秽，心想，我永远也比不上他们。我还是回去当个足球教练算了。

I thought it one time in my life you had to be smart to win.I used to have these smart people who dre so pretty, talk so pretty, use these big words, they just intimidated me.I said I could never be that good.Why don't you just throw that towel and go back coach football for a living.但我发现了这些人身上有两个特点。我发现，这两点让他们在美国商业领域内不可能实现成功。我发现，这些”机灵”人一辈子都在努力把事情“弄清楚”。他们总是希望能找到捷径。另一个特点就是，这些”机灵”人虽然“拎得清”，但却什么实事也没做。

And I found two things out about smart people.I think it's almost impoible for smart persons to win in busine in America today.Because also I found smart persons spend their whole lifetime away figuring things out.They are always trying to figure out the easier way and the quicker way.And the other thing I found out about smart people is they just don't get around to doing nothing.有些人看似能成功，却总说“我做不了”。有些像我一样的人能做到，也真的做到了。朋友们，我想告诉你的是，几乎所有美国人都没有为了成功付出足够的努力。他们总是几乎要做到，几乎快成功，几乎就大功告成，几乎就尽了全力，几乎能始终坚持，几乎所有的美国人都是这样。

但成功者真的去做。他们怎么做的？他们尽一切努力来实现目标。他们锲而不舍，坚持不懈，孜孜不倦，直到实现目标。

There's somebody likely to win it, and they say that he can't do it.Somebody like I can do it.But he does it.So folks I want you to know almost everybody in America does not do enough.They almost get there.They almost have it going.They almost get everything they do.Almost a way of life, almost everybody in America.But the winners do it.What do they do? They do whatever it takes to get the job done.They do it and do it and do it and do it and do it, until the job gets done.他们才告诉别人这些引以自豪的成就。在美国，我们需要的，正是能付诸实施的领导者。

And they talk about how great it is to be somebody they are proud of.We need leaders in America who can do it.如果你想功成名就，去做吧。如果你想干一番事业，去做吧。如果你想财务独立，去做吧。If you want to become somebody, do it.If you want to go in busine for yourself, do it.If you want to be kind of financially independent, do it.在美国，高谈阔论的人太多了。纸上谈兵，人人都会，但在美国，我们需要的，正是能付诸实施的人。

I hear too much talk in this United States.Everybody can talk a good game.We need people in America who can do it.我去过美国各州，期间遇到许多人这样对我说，“亚特，你可以相信我。”太好了，去做吧。I go all over this country.On my way, I hear people say, Art, you can count on me.Wonderful.Just do it.“亚特，我保证这是最后一次栽跟头。下次一定能成。”超级棒，去做吧。

Art, I guarantee this is our last stop.I'm going to win now.Super duper, just do it.“亚特，要是给我一个机会的话，我就能干成。”太好了，去做吧。

Art, if I could just have one good I could have this ball going and I know I could make it big.Super, just do it.“亚特，我只要把债还清了，就真的可以翻身了。”真不错，去做吧。

Art, if I could just pay off this debt, I could really go.Great, just do it.Art, if I could just sell my house.Do it.But how do they sell it? Do it anyway.“亚特，要是我把房子卖了……”去做吧。“但怎么卖出去？”不管怎样，去做吧。

Art, I'm not making any money.What can I do? You just do it.But do what, Art? You do it and do it and do it.“亚特，我现在挣不到钱。怎么办啊？”你只管去做吧。“但做什么呢？亚特。” 你只管去做，去做，去做。

Art, I guarantee I'm gonna win this contest.Super duper, just do it.“亚特，我保证我这次能赢比赛。” 超级棒，去做吧。

Art, I want to make you so bad, I'm gonna taste it.What I will do? You just do it.“亚特，我把事情搞砸了。怎么办啊？”我能做什么？你只管去做吧。

Art, I'm the vice president now.Can I quit doing it? No.“亚特，我现在是副总裁了。我可不可以就此坐享其成了？”不可以。

Art, I don't know if I can keep it on, I'm really hurt.What I'm to do? You just do it.But do what Art? You do it and do it and do it.“亚特，我不知道我自己还能不能坚持，我受不了了。该怎么办啊？”你只管去做吧。“但做什么呢，亚特？”你只管去做，去做，去做。

Art, all my life I want to be somebody important.Well, do it then.“亚特，我这辈子就是想当个大人物。”那好，去做吧。

Art, I'm gonna save money so I won't go through this again.Great, just do it.“亚特，我要开始省钱了，免得再次陷入困境。”很不错，去做吧。

Art, I don't feel like have enough training, what'd I do? You just do it.“亚特，我觉得我接受的培训不够，怎么办啊？”你只管去做吧。

Art, my manager don't give me a way, what'd I do? You just do it.“亚特，我的经理对我袖手旁观，我怎么办？”你只管去做吧。

Art, you don't understand, I used to be everything in my former company.You don’t mean I have to start over from the bottom, do you? Yep, you really gotta do it.“亚特，你不明白，我在以前的公司可是身居要职。现在，你要我从头开始，你是说真的？”是的，你真的要这样做。

Art, what's the primary difference between winners and losers? The winners do it.They do it and do it and do it and do it until the job gets done.“亚特，成功者和失败者之间最大的区别是什么？”成功者去做。他们锲而不舍，坚持不懈，孜孜不倦，直到实现目标。

And then they talk about how great it is to finally achieve something you need and how glad they are they didn't quit like everybody else, and how wonderful it is to finally be somebody they are proud of and make a difference with their life.然后他们会告诉你，最终实现自己的宏愿，这种感觉有多棒；自己没有像其他人那样放弃，他们是多么庆幸；成为自己梦寐以求的成功人士，写下人生的壮丽诗篇，这是多么美妙的事情。
