festival Hello everybody, today I want to introduce the Edinburgh international arts festival to you.At the beginning, I want to ask a question: have you ever been to Edinburgh? Edinburgh is a city in northern England, the capital of Scotland, the economic and cultural center.It has a population of 440000, area of 260 square kilometers.There are many famous attractions, such as the royal mile road（皇家哩大道）, Scotland whisky center（苏格兰威士忌中心），Gray stone’s house（格雷史东之屋）……

Then my presentation will include four parts, you can see, they are the origin of the Festival, hold time , cultural introduction, and the last show time.The origin of Edinburgh Arts Festival During the World War 2, European artists faced unprecedented havoc（前所未有的破坏）, British glade(Glyndebourne Opera)（英国格莱德堡歌剧）, opera manager Rudolf Bing, and many British artists get together in London, they hope to hold a art festival where the place was not damaged in local England.By doing so , they have a good wish that the European artists can find a stage to communicate with each other again, or even create a festival which can compare with the Austria Salzburg and German white Wright Music Festival（奥地利萨尔斯堡与德国白莱特音乐季）.After 3 years planning, finally the first seion of the Edinburgh International Arts Festival was organized in 1947.(also called Edinburgh International Festival).Hold Time It takes place every year from August 13th to September 2nd.Cultural situation about Edinburgh International Festival Every year in August, Edinburgh becomes the world’s attention, because of the annual arts festival event.During this period, the number of the tourists who go to Edinburgh will reach its peak;pub is allowed to extend their busine hours, what’s more ,there are lots of the newly opened pub in particular, even they all know that their pubs will open just for three weeks.All the people in Edinburgh are so busy and crazy.Edinburgh Arts Festival includes the International Arts Festival(Edinburgh International Festival), International Fringe Festival(Edinburgh International Fringe Festival)（国际艺穗节）, military tattoo（军乐队分列式）, Jazz Festival, International Film Festival, Book Festival which make people feel dazzled（眼花缭乱的）and don’t know how to make a choice.Meanwhile, the visitors will be moved by so many leaflets and advertisements on the street.At the same time ,the actors, dancers, directors, musicians, street artists and tourists all get together, so it is important to have a good time and enjoy the show rather than distinguish who you are.With the upsurge（热潮）of the international festival , the galleys will be active and show a large number of the high-quality work.The recent research showed that the festival brought twenty million pounds which were great economic benefits to Edinburgh , and also created more than 4000 job opportunities.But if you want to go to Edinburgh and experience it’s cultural at Edinburgh International Festival ,you had better book the hotel in advance.As we all know, Edinburgh is the most beautiful city in Europe.It has many beautiful buildings, including the ancient churches and Vitoria times architectural masterpiece.What’s more ,it is also famous for whiskey.In 1995, UNESCO（联合国科教文组织）listed the old and new towns in Edinburgh on the world heritage.The festival is open which attracts the people from all over the world, but it’s not vulgar（庸俗）;it’s commercial but the quality hasn’t lost at all.We can’t tell clearly where the charm is.Show Time
