Unit 17 Leon 3 My Favorite Comedy

---Laughter is Going on

Objectives: 1.To know basic knowledge of reading aloud.2.To know how to pause while reading.ⅠLead-in In the last cla, we have learned about Mr.Bean.Now, fill in the blanks in these summaries.Mr.Bean, a well-known comedy character, produces humor through simple but _____acts.He celebrates his birthday in a ______restaurant alone, where he just orders “steak tartare” due to ________ of money.Though he pretends to enjoy it, the ____on his face indicates that steak’s ___________taste makes him desperate to get rid of it by hiding it here and there.Rowan, an actor who plays Mr.Bean, turns out to be an entirely different person from the latter.The former, a well-educated man, worked as a(n)__________after obtaining a Master’s degree.He didn’t ________himself of his acting talent until he met some friends ___________ in theatre.In addition, his early-time speaking __________________prompted(引起)the inspiration for his amusing speech patterns.ⅡReading Aloud Reading aloud serves as an important skill in language learning, and this skill will be tested in college entrance examination.In this leon, you are going to learn this skill.What comes into your mind when it comes to reading aloud? Fluency

Step 1 Basic Knowledge

Tone(语调):英语的基本语调有两种:降调: 句子末尾语调下降的叫降调。陈述句、祈使句、感叹句、特殊疑问句。升调: 句子末尾语调上升的叫升调。一般疑问句、选择疑问句or前部分用升调。

Linking(连读): 在同一意群中,相邻的两个词,前者以辅音结尾, 后者以元音或半元音开头,往往要连读。如: Let me have a look at it.Glad to meet you.Stre(重读): 名词、动词、形容词和副词等实词常要重读。介词、冠词、代词等虚词则一般弱读。

Pause(停顿): 可根据意群(sense group)进行停顿,意群指句子中按意思和结构划分出的各个成分,每一个成分称为意群。同一意群中的词与词紧密相关,密不可分,否则会引起误解。从语义和语法上讲,意群必须是表达某种意义的一个(组)

词,一个分句,一个主句或从句。

名词短语: all the first three winners, these last few days 副词短语: first of all, day and night 介词短语: from now on, at home 简单的主谓或主谓宾结构: He stands up.He gave me a book.

从句:Whenever you come to see me, I will wait for you.Step 2 Read paragraph 2 and try to find out the sense groups(意群)in this paragraph.One of my favorite shows has Mr.Bean in a fancy restaurant.After seated at his table, Mr.Bean takes out a card, writes a few words on it, seals it in an envelope and places it on the table.After a moment, he looks back at the envelope but this time he looks surprised, as if he did not know it was there.He opens it to find a birthday card and delightedly puts on the table for everyone to see.Step 3 Reading aloud in College Entrance Exam Happine is always around you if you put your heart into it.When you are in trouble at school, your friends will help you;when you study hard at your leons, your parents are always taking good care of your life and your health;when you get succe, your friends will say congratulations to you;When you do something wrong, people around you will help you correct it.And when you do something good to others, you will feel happy, too.All these are your happine.If you notice a bit of them, you can see that happine is always around you.Step 4 Student Activities: Dubbing(配音)English comedies Manuscript of Friends: S: Profeor Geller?

me a ki.S: You got an 80!You didn’t even fail!Ⅲ Homework Try to find out the sense groups in Paragraph 1 and 2 of Text 2.教学反思:

本节课运用任务型教学法,学生通过自主、合作的方式完成相应的阅读任务,并在整堂课上采取小组竞争的方法,大大地激发了学生的学习热情,基本完成了本节课的学习目标—掌握英语朗读的知识和技巧。通过这一课的学习,渗透教育学生对笑在生活中扮演的重要角色,让学生领悟到快乐的重要和来之不易。
