Would you like to …? Teaching objectives: By the end of the cla, students should be able to: 1.remember some new words and expreions 2.name different kinds of buildings 3.talk about different types of homes 4.know about the ads: wanted and for rent Teaching procedures: Step1.Review a)Review the words the students have learned.Teacher gives the Chinese meaning and let the cla say the words loudly in English.b)Ask the students to describe the claroom.S1:There is/are … S2: ……
c)Teacher asks students to describe the rooms, furniture and home items in their own house.Teacher will choose 3～4 students.Step2.Presentation Show one of the three pictures.T: What’s this? Who knows? Look at it, …，…，it’s a/an ….Then show the rest of the pictures with teacher’s introduction.T: Which one do you like best? S: ….T: What’s your home like?(Teacher helps the student answer)Then teacher goes on asking the same question to the other students and writes down the important sentence patterns and phrases on the blackboard.Step3.Listening a)Let the students listen to 1a and answer the following questions:(1)What’s Kangkang’s home like?(2)What’s Wang Wei’s home like?(3)Where do Wang Wei’s grandparents live? b)Check the answers together.c)Listen to the tape again and let the students finish 1b.Step.4 Speaking a)Let the students follow the tape.Teacher pays attention to their pronunciation and intonation.b)Girls are Kangkang, boys are Wang Wei.Then change the role.c)Read this dialogue again together.d)Let the students work in pairs and then the teacher chooses some pairs to practice.Step5.Practice a)Divide the students into groups and let them make a survey about different types of houses of the group members.Then the cla must finish 1c and some students will report it to the cla.Example: In our group, three students live in ….… is the most common house.b)Teacher asks questions: T: What’s your home like? B: ….Then 3～4 pairs will present.Homework: Imitate the two ads on the book and try to write two similar ads down on the exercise book.Reflections: Teacher should explain the two ads---wanted and for rent more clearly.And if neceary, teacher can make the students well-remembered the two ads forms by doing some small games.
