Ⅰ.Teaching Contents: Unit2 A new House PartA from Fun With English 5A 1.Analysis of teaching material: The topics on Fun With English are well organized on pupils’
world,emphasized focusing on pupils’ interest and experience.Unit2 is intended for pupils to talk about their houses and the location of the things.And this leon aims to let pupils learn how to expre“what’s in the house?”and its answers and the location of the things in the house.2.Analysis of the pupils: Pupils in Grade5 have learned the sentence patterns “there be”and its question.They also know the family facilities.Pupils of their age are very active, they have strong thirst for knowledge and like to be challenged.According to the new curriculum standard,the contents of this leon and the levels of the pupils,I put forward the following teaching aims.Ⅱ.Teaching Aims: 1.Aims on knowledge:(1)Pupils will learn four-skilled words: live,bedroom,study,large,door,under,behind;new phrase:a map of the world;new sentence patterns:What’s in/on/under/behind…?There’s a…in/on/under/behind…./There are some…in/on/under/behind….New daily expreions:I live in a new house now.They like the…very much.(2)To understand the whole text and read it in roles;(3)To make a similar dialogue based on their real life in pairs;2.Aims on abilities:(1)To develop pupils’ abilities of listening,speaking,reading and writing;(2)To develop pupils’ abilitiy of how to describe the location;(3)To train pupils’ communicative skills and set up their self-confidence.3.Aims on emotion:(1)To foster pupils’ sense of cooperation and competition;(2)To cultivitate pupils’ sense of spatial orientation;(3)To help pupils better familiarize familiy facilities.Ⅲ.Key points: 1.To help pupils say the new words,new phrases,new sentences crrectly;2.To understand the whole text and read it in roles.Ⅳ.Difficult points:(1)How to understand the whole text and read it in roles;.(2)Pupils can talk about their real life freely.How to stre the key points and break through the difficult points,the key is how to use the teaching methods.Now,I will talk about my teaching methods.Ⅴ.Teaching methods: 1.Communication method.I will set up a real situation,in this way,pupils can practise in pairs or in groups.They can speak freely and needn’t warry about making mistakes.2.Task-based method.That is to say I will let the pupils finish a task by making a short dialogue and acting it out.Learning methods are also important.Ⅵ.Learning methods: 1.Probe study.2.Cooperative study.Let pupils study in a relaxed and agreeable atmosphere.Pupils can obtain the knowledge actively by probe study and cooperative study.Thereby, develop their abilities of studying and working with the learning language independently.Ⅶ.Teaching aids: CAI,pictures of the text,a tape-recorder, red stars,school things and so on.Ⅷ.Teaching procedures and the purpose of my designing: It is important to set up a better English learning situation for the pupils,I will follow 5 steps.Step1.Warming up.1.Greetings.2.Sing a song:“Two jackets”.3.Free talk.T:Hi ,boys and girls!S:Hi,Mi Zhang!T:What’s on the book? S:There’s a pencil on the book.T:What’s in the pencil-case? S:There’re some pens in the pencil-case.Purpose:I will greet with the pupils at first,then sing a song with them.I will also talk with them freely to review the sentence patterns in part B.So as to the psychological characteristics of the pupils,these activities make pupils feel pleased and satisfied,and also arouse their exciting motion.Step2.Lead-in.T:I live in a town named Shi Er Wei.Where do you live in ?(teach“live in”)S:I live in Gujing.T:I have some pictures of my house,I would like to share with you.Do you want to have a look? S:Yes,we do.Use CAI to show some pictures of bathroom,kitchen,dining-room,sitting room,to help pupils review the learned words by using the sentence pattern“there be”.T:What’s in my house? Purpose:Using pictures is one of the easiest ways to show the meanings of the words.Step3.Presentation and drills.T:Do you know YangLing? S:Yes,we do.T:Do you know where does she live in?Now,YangLing and her parents live in a new house.(teach“parent”)Would you like to visit her new house? S:Yes,we do.1.Skim reading Let pupils skim the text in 2 minutes,then “tick”or “cro”.(1)YangLing’s new house is very big.(2)There is a garden in her new house.(3)Her sitting-room is very large.(teach “large”)(4)There are two bedrooms in her new house.(5)There isn’t a desk in her bedroom.2.Scan reading Let pupils read the text carefully by themselves again,then answer the questions.(1)Is there a study in YangLing’s house?(2)How many bedrooms are there in the new house?(3)How many bathrooms are there in the new house?(4)How many rooms are there in the new house?(5)Where is the bed?(6)What’s on the bed?(7)Where is the telephone?(8)What’s on wall?(teach the phrase:“a map of…”)3.Listen to the tape
Let pupils listen to the tape as a whole one and read after it.4.Read the dialogue in roles,ask some pupils read it out and give them red stars.Purpse:Proper praise can help pupils set up their self-confidence.Step4.Consolidation.Let pupils work in pairs to talk about their houses and rooms.T:Today, we learned Unit 2 , Part A.We learned how to introduce our house and our room.And we also learned how to ask someone else what’s in his or her room.Please talk about your house and room with your partners.You should work in pairs and write it down.Purpose:Task-based teaching method is used here to develop pupils’ abilities of communication and cooperation.Step5.Homework.After step4,some pupils can grasp the knowledge well,but some can’t.Revision is so important.Pupils should speak English after cla as much as they do in cla.So I will arrange the following homework.1.Listen to the tape and read after the tape.2.Talk about the pictures of the text with your partners.Ⅸ.Design of the blackboard:
