Step 1:Greeting and Lead-in Hello, my dear students.Welcome back to our cla.Nice to see you, again!Today, we are going to learn the European Union.As we all know, the modern world is developing very quickly, some countries united as a nation in order to develop their economy fast.They get benefits from this kind of system.Just like the European Union.(Let’s do a brainstorming, and then name some of its members of European Union.)Ok.Now let’s do a brainstorming, firstly.Can you name some of its members of European Union? Well, it’s right!Now please follow me to write down these countries as many as poible.Step 2: Fast Reading Now, read the paage quickly and then answer the following questions.Ok, let’s look at the questions together.Question 1: Find the names of three first members and three new members of the European Union? The first members were France, Germany, Belgium, Luxembourg, the Netherlands and Italy.(the second paragraph)The new countries were Austria, Demark, Finland, Greece, Ireland, Portugal, Spain, Sweden, and the United Kingdom.(second paragraph)Question 2: In terms of size and population, how big is the European Union compared with China?
