课程分析：本单元的中心话题是“健康生活”。听说读写等活动主要围绕如何健身、怎样成为健康人展开，其中涉及许多社会热点问题，如抽烟、吸毒、艾滋病、学习与工作压力等影响健康的棘手问题。本单元引导学生讨论这些问题，目的在于让学生远离有损身体健康的活动，并养成良好的习惯。

随着经济发展和生活水平的提高，人们越来越关注健康的问题，通过讨论让学生真正懂得：一个真正健康的不仅要体格健壮，而且要心智健全。

这篇课文是爷爷写给孙子的帮助孙子如何戒烟的一封信。信中82岁的爷爷提到：他之所以能长寿和充满活力，主要得益于他健康的生活方式。爷爷年轻的时候也抽过烟，甚至上过瘾，因此他知道吸烟容易戒烟难，并以亲身体会向孙子介绍了上瘾的原因、抽烟的危害和戒烟的方法，告诫孙子把烟戒掉。上瘾的原因有三个：尼古丁的药物作用;；习惯的驱动力量；精神上的依赖性。抽烟的危害有；伤害心脏和肺、不孕、影响身边不吸烟人的健康、味道难闻、手指发黄、跑步速度慢、不喜欢运动。戒烟的方法：制定计划、下定决心、破除旧习、学习自我放松、必要时请求帮助、坚持不懈。

学情分析：本人担任20班的英语教师，20班是文科班，基础相对薄弱。这篇课文生词不是很多，结构清晰，学生易理解，知识点不多,因此教学应从实际出发，注重提高学生的基础和提高学生的听说读写能力。

设计理念：根据探究性学习方式试验研究的要求，调动学生参与教学的积极性，激发学生自主探究能动性，促进课堂迁移运用，使课堂充满生机。倡导自主、合作、探究的学习理念，全面提高学生的英语素质，充分发挥教学的育人功能，实现学生的主体地位，调动学生学习的积极性。

课后反思：开放型和封闭型两种类型的问题对于学生发展思维能力和训练英语能力都很重要。对于开放型问题没有统一的答案，只要经过深思熟虑即可。开放型问题有助于培养学生的发散性思维。回答问题有助于理解课文，做Summmary有助于更加系统地掌握课文结构，理解文章大意。充分挖掘文章信息，设计了一套换一套的学生自主学习活动，给学生尝试探究的机会，发挥了学生的主观能动性。
