Hello, everyone!The topic of my speech is “Environmental Protection”.At first, I would like to ask you a simple question, “Who are we?”Some people may proudly answer, “we are the masters of nature”.It is true that man has always been acting like a master and doing whatever he wants.The world population is rising so quickly that the world has become too crowded.We are using up our natural resources and at the same time polluting our environment with dangerous chemicals.A large number of trees have been cut down each year.These are only a few examples of what we have done to the environment.However, now we are faced with problems that are out of control.The green house effect leaves islands and cities along the coast in danger;the diseases caused by pollution are increasing at a fast speed...Facing all these problems, we now realize that we are not the masters of nature.If we continue to do this, life on earth cannot survive anymore.So what can we do to deal with such serious problems?I think some measures should be taken.First, governments should stop people from polluting rivers, lakes, oceans, and the air as well.Second, factories should pay special attention to the effect they have on the environment and work out solutions to the problems.Third, we should make the public fully recognize the importance of protecting the environment;there is only one Earth, so we not only protect it for ourselves, but also protect it for the next generations.Only by changing the way we treat the environment, can we get along well with it!Only by saving the environment can we save ourselves!So, do it now, do it ourselves!

We are just some students, we couldn’t make something especially big contribution for the environment, but we can firstly compose up in our environment, from protecting school’s environment, for example: obey the regulation forbidding chaos to throw away various waste, avoid using the drink up, me tin, plastic bags for one time merely…such can
cut down rubbish greatly and also do good to the environment in many aspects.Although these being minor matter at above, but if everybody gets to do, set about from saving resource and falling off contaminating at once, we are likely to be to protect the earth making a contribution out.As the teenagers who taking knowledge now, we ought to protect environment right now.Save the resource, protect environment, act as the young host who protects the earth!
