英语谜语的一般结构。
一个英语谜语通常由一个谜面和一个谜底组成。用公式表示如下:

英语谜语的一般规则,歧义,如果一个单词或者句子能够被从两个及以上的角度理解或者解释,那么它就具有歧义(Fromkin & Rodman,1983:169)。歧义可以分为词义、结构、语音、语用等四个方面。以下是一些关于歧义的例子。
