That‟s right!That‟s we called the Silk Road on the sea? No? Ha….Ha ….It is right here in GUANGZHOU, the first stop and destination of Silk Road on the sea.Historically, GUANGZHOU was very a well—known commercial and trade port in China.Even at present GUANGZHOU is also an important commercial and trade city in China.Have you heard about China Commodities Export Trade Fair, you foreigners might call “Canton fair”.They are held twice in GUANGZHOU, one in spring, the other in autumn.OK.We „ve just arrive at the Yuexiu Park, one of the largest parks in GUANGZHOU.Look at the beautiful sculpture before us.This is the symbol of GUANGZHOU, it called the Five Rams Status.There is an old story about these five rams: in ancient times GUANGZHOU, was a land of frequent famines and local people had a hard time.One day there were five gods riding five rams slowly occurred in GUANGZHOU from heaven.Every ram had a rice ear in mouth.The five gods met local people and left their rams and rice—ears to them and bleed them good luck in the future.Since then GUANGZHOU became a prosperous land of many harvest.Local people built up temple and this special status to memorize those kind—hearted gods.So that‟s why this city has a nickname as ram city and abbreviation name Sui(rice—ear in Chinese).This sculpture was established in 1950.Please get on the car now.We are going to the next sightseeing spot, Dr.Sun Yat—sen Memorial Hall.See this magnificent building.This is Memorial Hall of Dr.Sun Yat—sen.Do you know why he is called Doctor Sun because he used to be a doctor.This place used to be the original site of the President Office where Dr.Sun worked the whole building is of a typical and traditional Chinese architectural shape with beautiful decorations both inside and outside.If you look at it from afar, it is just like a beautiful umbrella.In front of the gate, we see there are four Chinese characters, written by Dr.Sun.it means that the Whole World as Community.Over there, is the bronze statue of Dr.Sun, establish in 1956.Now let us go inside.There are about 5000 seats inside with 11 exits.You see, no pillars inside, and the audiences can watch the stage clearly from every corner in the hall.Besides, its acoustic effect is also magnificent.If you have chance to come here for performance entertainment next time, you will feel its magic acoustics.By the way, this structure was built in early 1930s, completely designed and built by our Chinese people, we are very proud of this compound.Now, this memorial hall is regarded as one of the symbolic buildings in GUANGZHOU, and a key place for government meetings and large cultural performances.Please get on car now.The next city attraction we are going to visit is called Chen Clan Academy.This structure in front of you is Chen Clan Temple.It looks very beautiful, isn‟t it? The whole structure faces the south and covers 15,000 square meters with 6,400 square meters as principle section.It is a typical south China architectural style building.Chen Clan Temple is known for its local art of decoration reflecting the folk art features in Guangdong.It is also famous for “three kinds of carving, three kinds of sculpture and one kind of iron casting” Tree carvings refer to stone carving, wood carving, brick carving.Three sculpture and one iron casting.Those human figures, animals, hills and waters and fruits, all the subjects shown in the carvings and sculptures are from famous legends or historical stories and all things from nature to show good luck and happine.This temple can be regarded as a masterpiece in both architecture and decoration.It reminds us about those sculptures in the period of Renaiance in Europe.(When the night falls, pickup again in the hotel.)Now we are going to have the last program of our GUANGZHOU tour---Pearl River night cruise.It will take about 20 minutes from our hotel to the harbour.I will give you a brief introduction about the river through GUANGZHOU.Pearl river is the third largest river in China.Night cruise on the Pearl River is one of the tourist highlights in Guangzhou.Please tell me your impreion about your cruise when you finish it.Some visitors said the beauty of the Pearl River van be compared with that of Hong Kong‟s Victorian Harbor and some said it could be compared with the beauty of the Seine River in Paris.The section of the river starting from the White Goose Pool to GuanGuangzhouhou Bridge in the east and Baihedong in the south is the rout for the Pearl River night cruise.The scenery of the Pearl River in this section is so fascinating, with jade-green water and beautiful lights, that it seems this long river is decorated with seven-colored pearls, which forms a colorful rainbow along the Pearl River.On the way, you can appreciate such beautiful scenes of GuanGuangzhouhou as „Night Moon over the Goose Pool‟, ‟Misty Rain over Twin Bridge‟.‟Red Heart of the Pearl River‟, ‟Autumn Moon over the Pearl River‟, Cear Waves on the Pearl River‟, etc.What is more, detailed information will be given via speakers both in Chinese and English.The whole cruise takes around two hours.You can have the wonderful buffet dinner along your way.Have a bon voyage！
