Good morning, ladies and gentlemen.I’m selina, It’s my great honor to be your tour guide.Today we are going to visit Langshan Mountain.Lang Shan Mountain is a national geologic park as well as a national scenic area.It is located in Xining county, southwest part of Hunan province.Legend has it that seeing the picturesque mountains and rivers in Xingning, emperor shun made a stop and marveled at the secenery here.He said that this mountain looks good, so we may name it Lang Shan mountain.That’s how the mountain got its name.Lang Shan Mountain is famous for its unique Danxia landform.Tens of millions of years ago, here was an inland lake.Because of the movements of earth’s crust, the bottom of the lake appeared out of the deep water, which formed the structure of the red sandstone Danxia landform.It is th largest of Chinese Danxia landform.Dear friends, here we are at the Stockaded Village of Cattle Nose.Why was called this name? The fact was that Cattle Nose shaped holes were seen in pairs on the right side of a giant rock in the east.Then The rock was called as the hill of Cattle Nose by local people.During the late Qing dynasty, shidaka, one leader of the Taiping Uprising, led his peasant armies here.In memory of the historical events here, this place was renamed as the Stockaded Village of Cattle Nose..This huge characters is called “天下第一巷” in chinese, which means it is No.1 lane in the world.They were written by profeor Chen Guoda, a
famous Chinese geologist, when he made a visit here in 1993.The lane is 0.8 m wide at its widest point and 0.3m wide at its narrowest point.Walking through the lane, you can only see steep rocks, sky in the line and a ray of sunlight.It is the best in the world.Now here we are at the Octagonal Stockaded Village, which lies in the border between Hunan and Guangxi in the south of Langshan.This name was taken because that 8 peaks on the top of mountain are closely connected, resembling octagonal lotus.This is the scenic area of the Camel Peak.It is a typical of the Danxia landform of red sandstone.Can you see a camel-shaped peak there? It’s the camel peak.Seeing far away, it is like a huge camel walk a long way to here.It is the longest, biggest and heaviest
This is the pepper peak.It is 180 meters in height, the top is big and the bottom is small.This pepper is the symbol for the enthusiasm of Hunan people.In 2002, French Spiderman Alain Robert succefully climbed the Pepper Peak, barehanded.Now we are at the Zixia village.It has green mountains, clear rivers and wilow trees.Some ethnic minorities used to resided in this village.Legend has it that a Buddhist master once lived here.Every morning, he lit candles after getting up and spread his overcoat on the hill under the sunrise.When the sunrise shine on the red cliffs and overcoat, it reflects purple rays of sunlight and clouds of incense.Hence the name of Zixia
village.Here is also a holy place for Buddhism and Taoism.After enjoying the greatne of Langshan Mountain, now it’s time to experience the gentlene of Fuyi River.Originated from Cat mountain in Ziyuan county of Guangxi province, the Fuyi River gets through the whole Langshan Scenic Area.The water of Fuyi River is beautiful and so clear.Xingning county was known as the State of Fuyi in the old days.So its river was named the Fuyi River.This is the general-like rock, one of the six scenic wonders in Langshan Mountain.It used to be a peak and turned into a pillar during the late stage of Danxia landform development.It stands 400m in height,40m in circumference, still visible when you are 5km away.Ok, That’s all my introduction about Lanshan Mountain.Hope you have a wonderful time！Thank you!
