Impreion of The Catcher in the Rye
The book mainly told us something about the hero Holden.In the first five chapters, the hero talked about his school , teachers and his clamates.He thought the headmaster and some teachers were phony.In his inner world, he was traitorous.In his eyes, Ackley and Stradlater were negative and solfish.They always did things which were harmful to others but benefit themselves.In my opinion, the hero Holden didn’t like study is not all his fault.He couldn’t accept the atmosphere that money, status and power were the symbol of succe.He was looking for his own happine under the preure of the present situation.However, some of his characters are not good, such as sitting around ,having no desire to make progre and so on.In the book, there is a girl that the hero, Holden care about very much.Even when he was beaten by Stradlater, he didn’t shut up and continued fighting against with Stradlater.Holden complimented the woman’s son, his clamate a lot.Actually, he liked the woman because of her beauty.I can learnt that he just flied by the seat of his pants.We can also learn about this character from his trip to New York.He danced with the three girls who are totally strangers to him.In his inner world, he thought they were stupid because they just care about film stars.He was lonesome because no one could understand him.If you don’t really like a girl, you shouldn’t horse around with her at all.This proves he was serious about the girl he loved.There is one thing that Holden mentioned many times in the book.He always asked others about where the ducks of the Central Park was in winter.He just wanted to know such a simple question, but no one answered him.He maybe felt strange why the didn’t tell him.I think he is an innocent boy in some way, but people of that time thought he was rediculars.When he was in New York, he was cheated by the man who sent a girl to his room.He didn’t do anything with the girl, but he was robbed of his money.We can conclude that he was a pure and innocent boy.Holden seemed to hate everything in the world, However, he still liked the kindne, purity, honesty and esteem that he saw in some people, such as Phoebe, Allie, the two nuns and so on.In fact, Mrs.Antolini just felt sorry about Holden, but Holden was too sensitive and thought he was a homosexual.Later, he even dreamed of going to the west pretend to be a blind and deaf man.He had no choice but to escape from the reality.I rejoice that he finally didn’t go to the west because I don’t think his dream would come true at that time.
