If I should summarize the story with a minimum of words, the summary would be like that one such courtesan, once in her life, experienced deep love, that she suffered for it and died for it.Most people have this image of Marguerite as always being sanctity and pure.She used to be a countrywoman, but she came to Paris to earn her bread by prostituting herself.Unfortunately, the extravagant circumstance made she lead her life in luxury.As she indulgent with herself, she still felt and detested the huge void in her life.She was visible still in the virgin stage of vice and anticipated a section of true love----she knew clearly that those dukes’ love was a mere sham, what they really wanted was her marvelous face to show how their social statuses are.Armand’s appearance was evangel to Marguerite.She drew an irresistible attraction to Armand and found out that there would be someone who called to have the latest news of the patient every day during herself was ill, there would be someone who treasure up a fastener that she lost 6 months ago, there would be someone who would love her sincerely.They fall in love.The loved each other to distraction.Marguerite attained renascence.She got rid of her previous life and braced herself to lead a normal one.Nonethele, Armand’s father shattered her dream.She was compelled to estrange herself form Armand, whereas he couldn’t even understand her sacrifice.He subjected Marguerite to constant persecution till she died.(Armand leave Paris few days before Marguerite fell ill, but the pain he caused wasn’t eased till she die.)
