The Art Of War and the strategies of one’s life.By reading The Art Of War, I realize that this book contains infinite wisdom.I think this book is just about the war at the first time, so I made a presentation about the modern wars and The Art Of War.But when I decided to read through it, I find that there are manystrategies of life in it also.First of all, it’s making the right strategies of your life.“It is only one who is thoroughly acquainted with the evils of war that can thoroughly understand the profitable way of carrying it on.”（不尽知用兵之害者，则不能尽知用兵之利也。）
A strategy of life is a planning in one's overall development.For human being, it is likely to fly a kite with a broken line and sail a boat without a compa, if there are no destination in life.Second, this book told me that we must conquer the enemies without fight.“In the practical art of war, the best thing of all is to take the enemy's country whole and intact;to shatter and destroy it is not so good.Soit is better to recapture an army entire than to destroy it, to capture a regiment, a detachment or a company entire than to destroy them.”（“凡用兵之法，全国为上，破国次之；全军为上，破军次之；全旅为上，破旅次之；全卒为上，破卒次之；全伍为上，破伍次之。是故，百战百胜，非善之善之也；不战而屈人之兵，善之善者也。”）
This sentence makes two levels of meaning：First is to avoid war, second is to decrease the battles as we can as poible.Life is complicated, so is people surrounding us, fighting is not the wise way to solve the problems.Starting a fight with others is the last thing we have to do after we are angry.Third, here is the most famous sentence in this book, knowing your enemy is more important than knowing yourself.“If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles.If you know yourself but not the enemy, for every victory gained you will also suffer a defeat.If you know neither the enemy nor yourself, you will succumb in every battle.”（知己知彼，百战不贻；不知彼而知己，一胜一负；不知彼不知己，每战必败。）
This is the core tactical concept of The Art of War.Knowing your enemies, then you get the capability to make right strategies, and knowing your enemies, you can be unbeatable and be strong all the time.Fourth, I was taught that we might never fight without preparation.“If our forces are ten to the enemy's one, to surround him;if five to one, to attack him;if twice as numerous, to divide our army into two.”（十则围之，五则攻之，倍则分之。）
This paage not only emphasizes that a general should hold political responsibility, but also shows us that never fight without preparation.One man lacking in preparation must be making mistakes continuously.The last one I have learned is we must know ourselves bases on the practice.“There are three ways in which a ruler can bring misfortune upon his army: By commanding the army to advance or to retreat, being ignorant of the fact that it cannot obey.This is called hobbling the army.By attempting to govern an army in the same way as he administers a kingdom, being ignorant of the conditions which obtain in an army.This causes restlene in the soldier's minds.By employing the officers of his army without discrimination, through ignorance of the military principle of adaptation to circumstances.This shakes the confidence of the soldiers.But when the army is restle and distrustful, trouble is sure to come from the other feudal princes.This is simply bringing anarchy into the army, and flinging victory away.“
（故君之所以患于军者有三：不知军之不可以进而谓之进，不知军之不可退而谓退，是谓縻军；不知三军之事而同三军之政，则军士惑矣；不知三军之权而同三军之任，则军士疑矣。三军既惑且疑，则诸侯之难至矣，是谓乱军引胜。）
I learn from that book that if a king knows no actual situation of military, then failure is inevitable.Some people have many unrealistic idea, they have daydreaming all daylongand killing their time.So from now on, start knowing yourself, and regard basing on reality as your basic principle.These are some of my thoughts after reading this book.I think I need read it repeatedly so that I can dig more strategies’treasures in it, after all, you will understand a book after reading it maybe one hundred times.
