Dear Sir/Madam;
To Whom It May Concern:
It is my distinct pleasure to recommend*** to apply for the *** program at your school, because she is an excellent person with strong academic ability and remarkable learning potential.I am the Aociate Dean(主任)of ***department at*** University of China, one of the most famous universities in China.I teach *** for the undergraduate students and *** was in my cla during the academic year of 2006.When she started to pursuit master degree in 2008, I was her principal(委托人).We met every half month to discu academic research.As her teacher and academic mentor(学术导师), I have regular communication with her both in academic perspective(观点)and in career development.So I am the best candidate(候选人)to talk about her.This is to recommend Ms Lu Ran for admiion to the Law School at your prominent(突出的)University.I got to know her in 2009 summer, when she was interned(实习)at the Supreme People’s Court.I am the Presiding(首席)Judger of Intellectual Property(知识产权保护)Court and the direct supervisor(监管员)of Ms Lu Ran.I knew her achievement and career progre in the internship(实习期).As the profeor and Vice President at *** University of China, I deem it a pleasure to recommend Lu Ran, one of the outstanding students in my teaching experience for admiion in your ***program.As Deputy Director of Radio & TV Engineering Department of the Communication University of China, I communicate with students from our department very often.***is a very active student and good at communicating with others, and therefore, I came to know her as soon as she came to the university.She also studied in my cla for the Principles of Television course and I talked with her sometimes after cla.Thus, throughout all our different contacts, I have known from the original impreion up to thoroughly acquaintance(深入了解).I am so pleased to write this letter for my student Zhang Zhe to help her application for your graduate school.As her profeor of the course Application of Television Technology and her graduation project supervisor, I have ample understanding about her academic competence.Consequently, I recommend Zhang Zhe, a girl with great research potential to your university.I hope you consider her application positively.I have known Mr.Zhu Xu since he enrolled in our university in 2006.As a …….at ……..I am writing this letter with sincerity to recommend Mr.Chong Hao, a promising student to your honored Finance graduate program.It is my pleasure to recommend Zhang Zhe, one of my outstanding students for admiion into your master program.I came to know Zhang Zhe in the Digital Signal Proceing course.Though, this was a tough subject and the average of her cla is not good, Zhang Zhe distinguished herself by performing well in the final exam, which is among the top scores in the cla.It is a pleasure to recommend to you(name), a former student of mine at(name of university).”
“I am very happy to have this opportunity to recommend(name), who is presently applying for admiion to your graduate(or undergraduate)program in(name of program).”
“I understand that(name)is applying for admiions to your graduate(undergraduate)school, and has requested that I write this letter of recommendation for her/him.”
“In my capacity as profeor at xxxx University, I have known xxx for three years, as both his/her advisor and profeor.At the request of Mr.Xizhen Chen, my former student in the Department of Computer Science, Beijing Univ.of Sciences, I am glad to write this letter furnishing my evaluation of his academic aptitude(天资)for your reference.Mr.Chen is interested in your graduate program in Computer Science.It gives me a great pleasure to recommend Mr.Cheng as a transfer to the School of Busine Administration of your University in the summer quarter of 1989.During academic year 1980-1984, he was a student in our Department, World College of Journalism.I found him very diligent and intelligent.I am pleased to write this letter for my former student Mi Nan Li, who graduated from this College with an L.B.degree in June 1978.Mi Li was admitted to the Department of Law of this College in 1974 through highly competitive entrance examination which is conducted annually and is open to the whole nation.Even in such a selective group.Mi Li made herself distinguished.As profeor and dean of the College, I have acce to her records of academic work and moral conduct, In her fourth year study, I instructed her in Anglo-American Laws on Trespa.So I have known her quite well.I take great pleasure in recommending Wang Yong, one of my favorite students, for admiion into your distinguished graduate program.Mr.Wang was admitted in 1986 at 14 years of age into the SPECIAL CLASS for the GIFTED YOUTHS, my university's unique program that caters to the intellectual needs of unusually talented Chinese youngsters.It was a rare privilege he earned with his nearly impeccable(无瑕疵的)academic performance through the years of his elementary and secondary school.This letter of recommendation is for Caleb, a young man I have had the pleasure of knowing for the last 20 months.As a profeor emeritus(退休), I have come in contact with thousands of college and graduate students.However, Mr.Caleb stands out as a very extraordinary one with his research and teaching capability, personality and what is more, his “academic spirit”.I’m privileged to write in support of Mi.Lin Zhang.Mi.Lin Zhang had been working in CASIO(SHANGHAI)from March 2005 to September 2008, during which time I witneed her tremendous(极大的)growth and development.第二部分
I came to know him in September 1987 when Mr.Chen enrolled in my cla on FORTRAN IV Programming, a three semesters' course.In the cla he was one of the most outstanding students.At the semester final he earned a high grade of 81, which should be “A” according to our grading system.I also found him good at other studies.“(name)took two of my courses during the 1984-85 academic year, as follows;“xxxxx” and “xxxxx”.” “(Name)was enrolled in three of claes from September 1984 to June 1986 “xxx”
In my cla(es),(name)did excellent work.She always listened attentively, participated actively in cla, and handed in very good written aignment.“In particular, his/her research paper on(topic)was of exceptionally high quality, and showed that s/he fully understands and has a strong background in his/her field.” “When(name)held the position of(job title)in this company she was one s/he was one of my best employees.His/her job responsibilities included(describe them), and s/he carried out his/her duties with exceptional skill and profeionalism.” “S/he not only did his/her own work, but also helped other employees, and made many valuable contributions to the efficient running to our firm.”
I was rate(name)'s academic ability as in the top 10% of his/her cla.” “Compared against other students that I have taught, I would say that(name)ranks in the upper 10%.To my surprise, I found he was among the few students in his cla who could keep up with the pace of my lectures.Moreover, he often posed thought-provoking(发人深省,引人思考)questions during the course.Thus it was natural that I liked discuing with this young man and became familiar with him.The more I knew him, the more I found he was talented at mathematics.As you can see, he got excellent scores on the course.In fact, he ranked No.1 on this 270 hours course in the talented student cla which has 34 intelligent others.With his outstanding talent and solid(扎实的)mathematical background, he also did quite well in most other courses during his undergraduate study.By the way, you may wonder why his undergraduate scores look not so good compared to other Chinese applicants.It is easy to explain, because he belonged to the talented student cla, which were required to endure harder test papers and stricter grading than most other college students did at least at “University of Minnesota”.He even served as Prof.Linda s Research Aistant for one year.No one could deny his commitment to his job.As a matter of fact, Prof.Linda s electronic lab happened to be neighboring my office and I could always see him working in the lab, either repairing the instruments or helping Prof.Linda collect lab reports.Maybe one more example will demonstrate his commitment more clearly.Once he suggested compiling a FORTRAN program to solve a complicated circuit problem in his cla.In order to do that, he had to do a lot of computer work.However, because there were few computers available in our computer lab, he had to wake up at 5 a.m.in winter(please note: “Twin city” is a downtown near the north border of China, so it is pretty cold in winter and the heating system is not working very well.)to ensure the 1st position of the long waiting line for his clamates and himself!At last he and his clamates finished the program succefully with his great efforts.At the beginning, Mi.Lin Zhang was hired as a member of Electronic Dictionary Department, a newly-built department in CASIO(SHANGHAI), because of her excellent education background and language skills which were eential for our specific products.Facing the totally new work, Mi.Lin Zhang impreed me first was her learning ability.Her duty was to improve the sales channels in Shanghai and to establish good cooperating with famous language training school and the foreign language colleges.She was active and full of curiosity in every discuing meeting.She was a good planner as well.Most tasks taken charge by her were going smoothly and effectively.During his graduate study, he worked as my research aistant first, then as a teaching aistant of our department.Usually it is hard for someone to be good at even either one.However, as his adviser, I was pleased to find that both works he did was far exceeding what is called good.For example, unlike most other graduate students who are eager to publish eays and thus fear to take pains to make exhaustive(详尽的)investigation(调查)for their research, Mr.Caleb made extensive(大量的)survey。for his in the project sponsored by Science and Tech Commiion of “Chicago” municipal government.He searched every poible source of information within his reach and affords for related materials.As far as I know, he has been to Beijing to the National Library of China, Science and Tech Information Center, Tsinghua University s Library and most public libraries of “Chicago”.He searched both in library and on web, which is a totally new approach to us.Neither was Mr.Caleb satisfied with second-hand information only.During the proce, he also interviewed with supervisors of some scientific institutes of “Chicago” to obtain first-hand information.His teaching is equally praiseworthy(值得称赞).I often heard his students said that Mr.Caleb s lectures were interesting and enlightening and they loved to listen to his lectures.In fact, he has his own teaching style.To my knowledge, it is quite western.In other words, he pays more attention to arouse the desire of seeking knowledge among his students instead of maintaining a quiet and rigid(严格的)lecture atmosphere as most other teachers do.Thus you can imagine his lectures are full of discuions, laughter and eager eyes of learning.After the cla, he had personal talks with me several times.He indicated a great interest in computer hardware, In my opinion, Mr.Chen has a potential in Computer Science, which can be further developed.Mr.Caleb showed great aptitude on both courses and he got 78 on both, which seem a bit lower, but if you take the difficulty of the test papers and my strict grading into account, you will understand why such scores are still among the top five.Undoubtedly, he got excellent scores on other courses and ranked among the top 5% of his cla after the first year of graduate study.Zhang Zhe’s good academic results are tied to how seriously she takes her studies.She never mied a cla of my course.In addition, she always completed her aignment on time and sometimes even did more than the homework required.She thoroughly studied the exercises in detail and always recorded the theories she concluded from the exercises.My Digital Signal Proceing course was difficult and so I arranged regular office hours each week to help clear any doubts my students might have.Zhang Zhe never mied a chance to come by and she would bring several questions based on what she had learnt over the previous week every time.What is deeply impreing me is that before the final exam, she brought her midterm test paper, hoping to understand the points where she had failed.Ultimately, she finished with good academic results, ranking top of her cla on the final exam.Furthermore, Zhang Zhe has found an effective learning method for herself.On one hand, Zhang Zhe is a critical thinker and very often raises good questions.Sometimes we exchanged our opinions and got into deeper discuion.She always explained her views very concisely(简明的)and gave supporting arguments that were both clear and persuasive.By raising questions and solving these questions, she gained a better understanding of digital signal proceing.On the other hand, in addition to the material required for this course, she read reference books on digital signal proceing in her spare time, including two original English books, Advanced Digital Signal Proceing and Noise Reduction, and Digital Signal Proceing, which unquestionably helped her deepen the learning of digital signal proceing.At the beginning, Zhang Zhe met difficulty in learning Principles of Television, and so, she would usually discu with me trying to find a suitable and effective learning method.During our exchanges, her extraordinary(特别的)style of conversation and her oral expreion skills impreed me deeply.These skills also made her stand out from other students in the oral test section of the final examination.In the oral test, she performed very calm and demonstrated(展示)her oral articulatene(清晰)in the structures and operation principles.In addition, her performance in the written part of final examination is extraordinary.Her final grade of Principles of Television is 92.That obviously proved that she found out an excellent learning method for this course.Based on my personal view, she is a clever student because she is always able to find the most effective way to adapt herself to the new cla.It indicates that she poees strong learning skills to solve difficulties and hardships she encountered in her study.Zhang Zhe enrolled in my course Application of Television Technology during her senior year, and I found she is an inquisitive(好奇)and attentive(专心)person.She always concentrated on my lectures and absorbed knowledge effectively.Usually before each cla, she would come over to clear questions about previous cla and exchange with me her opinions.Since this course is more about various applications of television technology, she would also search the Internet for useful examples to help herself understand complex ideas.I believe the ability of self-learning is an eential quality for a student to do research and I am glad to say she poees it.Besides, I direct her final graduation project.Her research topic of graduation project is specifically The Noise Reduction in CT Image Proceing.Although our project has not officially begun yet, I found she already has a solid understanding of the subject.She has read much material about medical image proceing.Additionally, through several discuions about the design, I discovered that she takes many potential problems into consideration such as “Would something used in the project bring new noise to the image? And would the method being used for noise reduction have a negative effect on other aspect of the image quality? ” All our discuions make my work of supervising her research very interesting and I believe we will both benefit much from the whole proce.Personally, I have known Mr.Hao since I started teaching at CUFE.Since then, Mr.Hao has paid constant visit to my office with academic inquiries aociated with the study of finance and economics.When doing research on the topic of labor economy, Mr.Hao came to me, in particular seeking advices on both research of the maximum cost on human resources management and the study of micro economics.Throughout my academic life during the past 2 decades, I have been working with many talented young students.Mr.Hao has obtained the same qualification through systematic(系统的)preparation during the past four years at CUFE.Constantly he has been seeking my advices about his plan to pursue graduate degree in the US.Personally I believe the dynamic(有活力的)curriculum(课程)and thought provoking(刺激)study environment at your university will be the driving force aisting Mr.Hao fulfilling his academic and profeional objective.From March until July 2007, Mr.Hao worked with me as a teaching aistant in the International Finance cla.As my TA, he was able to hone his knowledge of the subject by teaching it to others.At the end of the semester, Mr.Hao volunteered to work with the cla in my absence and helped everyone prepare for the final with his notes.Through extracurricular(课外的)research and academic journal(学术杂志)reading, Mr.Hao summarized his notes from a unique, more understandable perspective.During the second half of 2008, I worked closely with Mr.Hao as the advisor for one of his pilot projects(试点工程)entitled “Research on China’s Food Price and Food Security”.In order to get the most accurate data, Mr.Hao spent a significant amount of time at the library, interviewing officials from the Ministry of Agriculture and visited numerous farms, asking peasants filling in survey questionnaires(调查问卷).Frankly speaking, I was highly impreed with Mr.Hao’s research capability and communication skills.He was able to explain complicated academic jargon(专业术语)to local farm worker using everyday language, so that there were no misunderstandings.After repeatedly revising his final report, Mr.Hao’s project received the top award for college student research.Since her enrollment into Renmin University of China with remarkable entrance scores, she had embodied(呈现)the fine character of strong inquisition(调查)and industriousne(勤奋)in learning, which had gained her significant academic succe during college years.As a young student interested in the foundation of law and justice, he regularly visited my office to discu the current trends and hotspot(热点)in law research frontier(前沿).I still remembered that she questioned the effectivene of Exploration and Requisition in property law cla.She believed that current law item in this area is not faultle(完美)and should be revised(修改).I was greatly impreed by her strong analytical(分析)skills, rational(理性)logical thinking, and comprehensive(综合)development insight(洞察力).I had reviewed(评估)her undergraduate thesis and her topic as well as the reasoning throughout this paper fully presented her great academic performance.She not only performed very well in school but also applied what she learns in the claroom into the society.Her paper on establishing new style of village in China discued several critical legal iues on the proce.All the iues and examples in the paper was collected and composed by her during the summer vocation in 2006.This excellent paper was published in a well-known academic journey in China and won great appreciation(感谢,欣赏).Her strong academic potential strongly shocked me.Recently, she talked with me about her plan to apply for law study abroad.As her teacher and longtime friend, I understand her academic and career objectives.I truly believe that LLM training in the United States will accelerate(加速)her profeional development.I am the Aociate Dean of law school at Renmin University of China, one of the most famous universities in China.I teach civil law for the undergraduate students and Lu Ran was in my cla during the academic year of 2006.When she started to pursuit master degree in 2008, I was her principal.We met every half month to discu academic research.As her teacher and academic mentor(指导), I have regular communication with her both in academic perspective and in career development.So I am the best candidate to talk about her.As one of the top students we recruited from Guizhou province in 2004, Ran demonstrated great learning ability and academic development potential in our university.She was awarded the National Students Scholarship in 2007 and Excellent Student Awards in three consecutive years.During the semester of my civil law cla, she had extensive(广泛的)discuions with me not only in the topic related to the cla but also in the other law fields.One time when I taught the public interest in my cla, she had some questions about its definition and evaluating criteria.Since I was very busy that day, she caught me during the lunch time and extensively discued the topics for about two hours.Her enthusiastic learning and rapid response in academic reasoning impreed me a lot.The study of law requires talent, hard-working, and down-to-earth(实际的,现实的)characters.She performed very well and fully utilized her potential so as to become one of the best students in my cla.In 2008, she worked in my group and aisted the revision of National Real estate law and Tax law.Her excellent work was recognized both by other group members and by industrial profeionals(专业人员).In 2006 she studied in the California State University at Northridge as an exchange student.She told me that she had a great impreion about the school and was attracted by the curriculums(课程), faculty bodies, and Ph.D.program in the United States.As a Ph.D.candidate in 90s and a past visiting scholar in Europe, I fully understand her decision and believe that the study at your prominent school will accelerate(加速)her academic development in the law field.Her enthusiasts, versatility, and organizing ability will certainly add value to your school and program.第三部分
He often participated in extracurricular(课外)activities contributing a great deal to community(社团)affairs.I would like to say Mr.Caleb is a warm-hearted, honest and upright(正直)student.He was always ready to help others.During my lectures, many students got confused at some points and I could always see Mr.Caleb help them explain during breaks.In the meanwhile, I must admit that Mr.Caleb was a bit impatient sometimes.Besides such neceary character as sense of responsibility, integrity(正直)and sense of team-working, it was creative spirit and independent thinking that made Mi.Lin Zhang different.Whenever meeting with any challenge in work, she always had a deep belief in finding a new and better way to solve the problem.We really encountered a variety of difficulties at the beginning of the project, especially in locating our core customers since the market of China was so different from that of Japan.Mi.Lin Zhang collected useful information of our customers’ thoughts by visiting teachers and students at school and paying attention to language learning websites, which influenced the marketing media work in a positive way and set a good sample for other colleagues.After 2 years of hard work, Mi.Lin Zhang was promoted to Chief in marketing section.She efficiently contributed to push the marketing items such as media releasing, new product launching, official website renewing“更新”.Moreover, she was in charge of the new potential customer survey and new model products analyzing.During February 2008, she went on a busine trip to our Tokyo Office and learned more about the general marketing information.His personality also impreed me so much.I would like to take only one case among numerous ones as example.Besides his research, teaching capability and personality, I think I should bring up the overwhelmingly strong point of Mr.Caleb--his academic spirit.Although I know that it is hard to define what is called “academic spirit”, Mr.Caleb does prove it through his independence on his research, innovative(创新的)perspective(观点)and commitment to academic activity.Frankly, I think it is the “academic spirit “that distinguishes him from thousands of college and graduate students I have ever known.With the ”academic spirit“, Mr.Caleb is marching steadily towards his career goal--an ideal scholar with time goes by.One more point.Mr.Caleb s English is excellent compared to most college or graduate students I have ever known.For example, ”Chicago“ municipal govern-ment held ”International Friendship Month" and invited many foreigners(including guests from Clevend, U.S.A.)last summer.Mr.Caleb was chosen as one of 6 volunteer interpreters out of nearly 300 colleges and graduate students who applied the positions.Therefore I am sure that he will adapt to the rigors(严格的)of graduate school life in U.S.without any difficulties.What is more, she has excellent organizing skills and is well disciplined(受过训练,遵守纪律).She makes definite plan for each period and tries her best to conduct as the plan.Whenever she needs to make important decisions, she would always discu with her profeors and senior peers.It is no exception when she came to me and asked for suggestions about applying for the Biomedical Engineering in the United States.From the conversation with her I could tell that she had not only done much research about this field, and crafted(精心制作)a detailed plan for her graduate studies overseas, but also accomplish the plan gradually such as conducting the intern program and reading the book listed in the reading items.Ran’s big difference from others is her paion to creativity.She never limits her thought in established methods and always adjusts status-quo to improve efficiency and quality.She studied the Civil and Commercial law in school but we conduct Intellectual Property cases at here.She utilized(利用)her keen insight to learn new knowledge during work and took initiative(主动权)to be involved in the critical proce.She not only did a great job in the new field but also establish her interest in Intellectual property law.She said she will continue to develop her future academic research in this new field.One of her distinguished characteristics is that the applicant, very proactive(主动), knows how to get her idea through and then execute(执行)them.She can not only work with minimum supervision, but also recommend ways to improve workflow(工作流程).For example, when she aisted other senior coworkers to proce cases, she found that the version of document exchange software is outdated.She suggested updating the exchange software to get better work experience.Based on her paion and enthusiasm, the exchange software resulted in a tremendous succe.Another thing that impreed greatly was her internship final report.Her in-depth analysis about several cases during her intern, one of them is the brand case between CARTELO and LACOSTE, demonstrated her strong foundation in legal theory and hard-working characteristics.The applicant has good verbal and written English skills.She has been responsible for coordinating(协调)communication with several cases involved with foreign busine and she performed very well.Besides, she writes emails in English clearly and concisely(简明的).第四部分
Based on his/her previous performance, I am certain that(name)would be a very succeful student at your university.” “I believe that(name)poees all the qualities neceary to make an excellent graduate student in his/her chosen field, and I am sure that s/he will make a fine addition to your campus.”
Mi.Lin Zhang is no doubt an excellent employee.As a young lady, it seemed to me that she enjoyed and desired some change in her life.Her decision to quit one year ago was quite unexpected to me.However, personally I respected her decision.Now I am glad to know that she was planning to pursue her study in Singapore.As I know, she liked Singapore since she had a wonderful travel experience there in 2007.I hope her application can have your consideration.Your kind consideration will be greatly appreciated.I would like to provide more information upon your request.In view of his previous achievements in this College, I am firmly convinced that Mr.Chen will make a succeful graduate student.Your favorable consideration of his admiion will be highly appreciated.I strongly recommend this promising young man and your favorable consideration and aistance to him will be very much appreciated.Therefore, I am happy to highly and without reservation recommend(name)for admiion to your graduate program.Your kind/serious consideration of his/her application would be most appreciated.” “I am thus pleased to give my full support and recommendation to(name)'s application for admiion to your school.If any further information is required, please feel free to contact me.”
