尊敬的胡锦涛主席和夫人，尊敬的罗格主席和夫人，尊敬的各位来宾，女士们，先生们，朋友们：今天，来自奥林匹亚的圣火，跨越五大洲、四大洋，将在这里熊熊燃起。在这激动人心的历史时刻，我谨代表第２９届奥林匹克运动会组织委员会，向来自世界各国家、地区的运动员、教练员和来宾表示热烈的欢迎！向国际奥林匹克委员会、各国际单项体育组织，向参与奥运会筹办的建设者和工作者，向所有关心、支持北京奥运会的朋友们表示衷心的感谢！举办奥运会是中华儿女的百年梦想。七年前，十三亿中国人民与奥运有了一个美好的约定。从那时起，在国际奥委会的指导帮助下，中国政府和人民满怀激情，以最大的努力实践绿色奥运、科技奥运、人文奥运理念，认真做好筹备工作，兑现向国际社会作出的郑重承诺，使奥林匹克精神在中华大地得到了更广泛的传播。在我国四川发生特大地震灾害后，国际社会和国际奥委会的支持与援助使中国人民感到温暖，也使我们增强了重建美好家园、办好北京奥运会的信心。奥林匹克运动的魅力在于她的巨大包容力。今天，全世界２０４个国家、地区，不同民族，不同宗教信仰的人们相聚在五环旗下，增进了解，加深友谊，共同奏响“同一个世界，同一个梦想”的乐章。奥林匹克精神的真谛在于追求以人为本，实现人的自我超越和自我完善。每一位运动员，都将在公平竞争的环境中，展现精湛技艺，迸发参与激情，创造心中向往的辉煌。北京奥运会的重要使命在于促进世界各国文化的交流。我们真诚地希望，中华民族悠久的历史文化、充满生机活力的城市和农村、热情好客的人民，能给朋友们留下美好的记忆。朋友们：——“北京欢迎您！”本人译文： Honored Chainman Hu and his wife Respected President Rogge and his wife Distinguished guests, ladies and gentlemen, friends: Today, the Olympic Flame coming from the Olympia has been acro five continents and four large oceans, and will be lighted up here.At this excited historic moment, I would like to show, on behalf of the 29th Olympic Games Committee, my warmest welcome to all the athletes, coaches and guests from all over the world.I would also like to extend my heartfelt thanks to the IOC, IFs, the constructers and workers involved in the preparations for the Olympic Games, as well as all the friends concerned with and in support of the Beijing Olympic Games.It has been our Chinese people’s common dream that has been of a hundred years’ history to stage an Olympic Games.Seven years ago, 1.3 billion Chinese people had a wonderful appointment with the Olympic Games.Since then, with the help and guide of the International Olympic Committee, our Chinese government and its people are enthusiastic to put into practice the theory ‘Green Olympics, Hi-tech Olympics and the People’s Olympics,earnestly preparing well to honor our commitment to the international society, thus broadly expanding the spread of the Olympic spirit on the Chinese ground.After the heavy earthquake that has happened in Sichuan Province, the support and aid made by the international society and the International Olympic Committee have made our Chinese people feel extremely warm and have enhaunced our confidence of rebuilding home and making good preparations for the Beijing Olympic Games.The charm of the Olympic Movement lies in its tremendous embracement.Today, 204 countries and regions worldwide, people with different ethnics and different religious worship is gathering under the Olympic flag, and with improved mutual understanding and deepened friendship, they will perform the chapter of One World One Dream.The truth of the Olympic spirit rests with its pursuit for people oriented, the realization of self-exceeding and self-perfection.In an environment of fair competition, each athlete will embody their unique skills, burst out their aspirations for participation, thus creating their long-cherished performance.The important miion of the Beijing Olympic Games is to promote culture exchanges among countries.We sincerely hope that our friends will be deeply impreed by the centuries-old historical cultures of our nation, vigorous cities and countries, and hospitable
