教学步骤
Step 1 Pre-reading
1.Greet as usual.2.Show some picture on the big screen.Teach Ss some main words and phrases in the paage in in 2b, eg:
dragon, Dragon Boat Festival, any, other, young, child, children, mi, wish, delicious, living room.3.Teach students to read and understand these new words and phrases.4.T: What time is it in Beijing?
S: It’s eight o’clock in the morning.Let students to make other different conversations about other places.Step 2 Skimming and Note-taking(速读和速记)
Fast read.T：Read the article to answer the questions.1.Why are ZHU hui’s family watching boat races and making zongzi？
2.Does Zhu Hui like his host family? What does he think about his home in China?
Ss read the paage quickly and try to find the answer to the questions..Check the answers.Step 4：Scanning and carefully thinking(审读)
Read the text again;try to answer the questions below:
1.What special day is it?
2.What do Chinese people do on this day?
3.What do people eat on this day?
4.Where is Zhu Hui now?
5.What time is it in New York?
6.What does “host family” mean?
Step5：Explaining main and difficult points（释疑）
教师先带领学生学习语法点，接着让学生在限定时间内划出疑难问题，在组内讨论，互相启发，教师巡查，给学生提供及时帮助，然后小组向全班陈述本组难题，教师根据各组信息反馈，通过典型例句精讲重难点，培养学生独立思考问题、解决问题的能力和合作探究精神。
接着让学生独立完成2c 的匹配任务，并从文中找出这些短语并划线，再让学生用这些短语口头或鼻头造句。最后全班核对答案。
